What Fans Need To Understand

It has come to my attention that lots of you feel you are entitled to DEMAND things from Britney simply because you have bought her cds and spent a large part of your life watching and waiting for her to give you what you see for her i.e. her naked hanging from this, big hard dance number, edgy high fashion, live singing etc.

You NEED to remember who is the artist here and who is the fan. Remember what is happening here. You are a stranger following HER. Looking into HER world. And while she'll appreciate the support we give, she does not owe us anything. We are outsiders looking into her world and we choose to buy and support her products.

Don't get butthurt about what you see. It's her life. She has not ordered you to follow her. Can you imagine having a facebook page, having people follow you and buy your t shirts and mugs and then have them get angry or weird on you because you aren't doing this a certain way? Lol It is literally madness. That's your page, your life - they don't have to buy it if they don't like it. They don't have to support it. They can go elsewhere at anytime but to stay there and just be weird is mental. Don't get mad at Britney because you are addicted to her and feel she is yours to demand things from.

It's like customers having a problem with the fact you're discontinuing a line of your products - that is YOURS to decide. Not the customers.

If they want that product you've discontinued, too bad, you don't do it anymore - but they are free to go elsewhere.

It is up to the artist to decide how they are going to express themselves through their art at any given time.

Just because you support her, it does not mean you are owed ANYTHING. You CHOSE to buy those cds. You CHOSE to be here watching and waiting.

And you can CHOOSE to leave at any time. She is NOT forcing you to be here if you don't see eye to eye on what you think she should be doing.

It's cool that you have your opinions, but at the end of the day - it's up to her and what she wants for her brand.

I will tell you now a huge truth, and I'm the fan since day one.

True, everybody can leave when ever they want. But let's be real, expect the music this era, she didn't give us anything worthy so she can be called an artist.

If MM MV, Glory visuals and VMAs performance is her artistic vision, then she can not be considered as a serious artist.

Obviously that one of the biggest moments that Britney have had, were created by her and great help of her creative team. In her prime and in circus era, she had one of the best creative team in the business. But now her creative team and her vision sucks.

I'm just honest, and if I ever had a chance to talk with her so long that we can also speak about her career, I would tell her that in her face. Her and her teams creative vision sucks, and they are destroying her legacy for the past 6 years.

I'm waiting SP MV, if she doesn't give me a cool, current A game video I'm out.

While i mostly agree with you and this fanbase is terrible for complaining and demanding everything, Its kinda bad business practice to be so out of touch with you're products target audience. No successful business is so pig headed as to say "tough, go elsewhere".

Britney IS an artist whether you thought her visuals so far are worthy of that title or not. Drag Queens ARE artists.She is quite similar to a drag queen. A visual artist, a performance artist.

The make me music video is art. The make me performances are art.They might not have been in keeping with your vision for her - but that is the entire point - it's her art. She works hard and she hopes people like it but it has to be right for her.

If you don't like her artistic visions then like you say peace.

It's not about being pig headed at all. 

It's about trying to communicate the fact that it is about what she wants to do, as it's entirely her art. And there will be the people that love it and those that hate it. 

She can't please everyone. So she's just got to do her and the people that like it, like it. She's happy with her work and proud of it and that's the main thing. It may sound harsh if you've been here since day one but heck even Chris Crocker learned it, he somehow thought he was owed a thank you, for supporting her. He never got one and now thankfully can see that he wasn't owed one at all. It would have been AMAZING to have got the thank you - but it wasn't owed to him. As a fan from day one myself, I have felt on so many occassions, how AMAZING would it be if she came out and sang or danced as hard as before, but i'm not owed it.

One day you'll understand Fans are amazing - not the enemy at all - you just misunderstand. 

When you have your own products and you work really hard on them and you sell through shops (that's where you get your money by the way incase you didn't know - the deals you make with companies) THAT is where the money is.

SHE earned that from her lifetime of hard slog.

I could too try and claim some share in her success but i'm not an idiot. She earned that success by getting those deals. Not simply from my itunes sale.

My order will be appreciated, but if I don't like things - I don't need to buy them. If I don't like her costumes which I often don't - it's cool because it's not my performance costume. Her art, her vision.

Well 90% of this fan base is not OK with her and her teams artistic vision for her last 2-3 eras. And because of that she lost huge amount of fans in the last 6 years. So I guess it is her problem, because if she keeps doing shitty things like she's doing for the last 6 years (they were some exceptions) she should start thinking about changing a job, because she won't be able to sell her LV show in next 2 years. So it is her problem, maybe not in the short-run, but definitely in the long-run.

You don't have to be too much smart to figure it out that her FF tour wasn't recievde that good..particularly in Europe. Than we got BJ fiasco, and now Glory fiasco. And let's be real she is stucked in LV because she can't sell WW tour anymore.

And her album sales are so low for the last 6 years, and I'm talking about the superstar of her caliber, not some shitty stars like Selena or Demi.

So it is her problem, I was loyal to her so many years, as many fans around the world. And I love her, but I cannot and don't want to be her accomplice in destroying her legacy.

If you're a Britney fan then you are an observer into her world and you choose to buy into her brand by buying her music, perfumes, concert tickets, merchandise or whatever. She is a performer and singer first of all and her music is the most important thing. Videos are important too but Glory is a good album and it should be mainly about the music. Leave the likes of Beyonce to do visual albums. Britney delivered a lot this era and for the first time in three years performed outside of Vegas and did interviews. We should be grateful for that.

In fact we as Britney fans should be grateful she is still alive and able to perform and make music. Things could have easily gone the other way in 2007 and she could have died and instead we would be looking at a site full of tributes and obituaries and still stuck with the music we had in the mid 00s. No Blackout, no Circus, no FF, no BJ, no Glory, none of the other random songs she released in between FF and BJ, nothing. Her children would have been left without a mother. Even if you don't like her current music or videos or whatever, we should be grateful that she seems to be healthy and happy and able to watch her children grow up.
