I think it does sound a bit similar, but that might just be because it's in French. I think if it was an English song it wouldn't sound as similar.

No, I'm saying they're both pop songs.  It's not like Coupure has groundbreaking production. It's good, glossy, and theatric sounding for sure, but not revolutionary.
