Is Ooh La La Britney's most relevant pop song?

Making a thread about my comment I see :shameless:

@PokemonSpears Ooh Lala is a mess song and it's a flop tbh. No matter how better the video could have been, it began the downward quality of Britney's music imo.

Not her best, but definitely better than most of Blackout, and better than some songs on Britney Jean. If any, the curse started with that SMS Bangerz thing :donewithit:

... is ONE of the most pop songs but maybe the last one in the list because, come on, it was kid's movie sountrack. :hairflip:

Brightest Morning Star, Make me and Hard to forget you, remind me of the Oops... album. The latter has a great pre-chorus but the main chorus is just too silly and lets the hype of the song fall so bad.

This part is pure 90's pop: :pumped:

Since I tasted you I got a craving

Shaking in the heat of the night

Oh, yeah, baby you got me misbehaving

And I don't even know what is right

But then it falls into this silly and non-sense chorus: :4music:

There's just something about ya

Something about ya

It's hard to forget ya

We're stuck here forever

Something about ya, 'bout ya

YESSSSSSSSSSSS

YESS

YESS

I don't get it because the director of the video Marc Klasfeld has shot some iconic AF music videos, you've got A Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton, When You're Gone - Avril Lavigne and more recently Lovers On The Sun - David Guetta among many others and then he gave Britney Ooh La La. I call bullshit here. Something must have gone wrong in the shooting of the video she needs to get out of the conservatorship ASAP cause she deserves better and has a right to her freedom like every other human being.

They're just so cheap, they probably couldn't find the usual thousand sponsors they need nowadays to shoot a videoclip, and the producers of the movie weren't paying neither, so they sure were like, "we can pay a blue screen, what can we do with that?".

Hmm yeah that seems most likely what happened. I mean it could have been an amazing video and made the song spike in popularity but yet again we see something going wrong with her team, management or even her decision regarding the video. It just doesn't make sense like why would Larry give all this money to Fifth Harmony for their latest "That's My Girl" video and ensure that project happens and then can't follow through with a Britney project. It begs me to presume that Britney has control over him or the other way around and Larry either favours what Britney wants due to her loyalty or Britney lets him control her.

Another theory would be Britney wants nothing to appear of a negative, denigrating nature to her as a female woman because of her conservatorship. I have for a long time believed Britney is working at impressing or appearing of good nature to her conservators just so that she wins her freedom back. I think this has helped me as a fan because it makes sense why she has made certain decisions since 2008. A strong indicator of this theory is her winning the kids category or her making sure she has that category in X Factor because it influenced the opinion of her positively to her conservators. Shortly after her X Factor stint Britney won a court case regarding her children and her time on X Factor could only be seen as popular.

I've always thought the same. I think all these "inhibitions" she's showed the last few years are to give a certain impression to the judge or the conservators, her dad? whatever, but yeah. I totally think so.

But that's not an excuse for the cheap tings like these videos, Ooh La La, Make Me..., Perfume, etc. And the worst thing is that probably they aren't even that cheap, it's just bad taste, bad editing, bad decisions, that make them look so bad. I genuinely believe when she says she doesn't like to listen to her own songs or watch her videos, but I wish someone would sit her down and force her to watch at least a compilation of her music videos through the years, her best performances, her interviews, photoshoots, etc. Maybe that's what's missing right now, she needs to make click with her past self and find again that spark that made her do all those amazing videos, performances, choreos years ago.
