Glory recording timeline

I thought it would be interesting to have a thread like this. I love knowing when each song was recorded and how much of the album was complete at the time. So let's start with confirmed info:

Mood Ring: June 2015

Make Me: October 7, 2015

I think the Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels songs were recorded in November-December

Justin Tranter said that the first song they did was Do You Wanna Come Over, so that might be it

According to Karen, Love Me Down was the last song recorded, so it must have been recorded this year. Larry said Britney would finish recording in March so it was probably recorded around that time.

Do we know anything else?

Do you remember these two people who said that they were amazed by her voice, because she sounded so good, and they couldn't stop fangirling so they kicked them out of the studio for her to finish the song?

I don't remember who they were, or what song was she recording and I can't seem to find the article :paper:

Yep it was Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels! They wrote Invitation, Do You Wanna Come Over, Slumber Party, Just Like Me, Better and Change Your Mind.

was mood ring written before needed me then? i feel like people are gonna try and compare the two and blame brit, although i think the two tracks are completely different, the similar mustard-bassline strikes a slight resemblance and I wanna know which was written first so I'm ready if people come for the song and try to drag it lol

I think it goes all the way back to October 2014. That's when Britney started saying in interviews that she was ramping up work in the studio.

None of that material made the record. That was Pretty Girls, the scrapped "rockier" music & the tracks with Matthew Koma and whatever else she recorded then. If I'm Dancing & Mood Ring are the oldest tracks on the album.

I'm so glad tbh. Tho I have my doubts about Liar since it sounds "rockier".

Not sure but it's possible. Regardless Needed Me was released this January and Mood Ring was already 6-7 months old by then so they can't come for Britney.

nope. needed me was created first.

britney revealed that she didn't start recording the body of glory until karen came along which was mid last year (may - june - july), right after pretty girls. melanie also said karen told her that britney loved it, so it's safe to say karen swiped it up for britney in 2015 because that's when britney started to work with karen. plus mustard didn't start blabbing about it til july 2015. rihanna started working with dj mustard in 2014 for ANTI. needed me was registered in 2014 as well.

plus in jordan's interview with mood ring's co-writer/producer jon asher, jon specifically says that he had played his friend nick jarjour (a worker at maverick) the track and that during the time he played nick the demo of mood ring, nick had been facilitating songs like rihanna's needed me. so needed me had already been completed.

I think he means people cant say that Britney heard Needed Me and went like "oh I want a song like that"
