She's taken more control of her career, She was the one yelling at LaChapelle (since that we could see she wasn't comfortable with the video).

She didn't promote BJ cause she was focused on Pieces of me rehearsals.

She needs to realize if she wants to continue in the music industry or just go home with her family.

I think we should stop wanting her to be a pop star and be happy she performs at all (Barbara Streisand completely stopped performing 30 years ago) and that she sang on this record. She does not like to do interviews. Her face will never be the same. She doesn't like being held to current performance standards, and shes not fashionable.

Her vocal interpretation of songs is what is still stellar about her. She effortlessly captures and conveys the exact emotion in the song and brings it to the next level.

Let her do what she wants to do. Whatever she does, I just want her to do it wholeheartedly.

RCA just doesn't know what to do with her. They were new. They had to/have to go dance around her handlers. It's a business. She's also a woman in her mid-30s. You have to cut them some slack. They're not behind the Vegas gig. They have to take into consideration that they have/had a client that wasn't willing to promote and had to figure out a way to recoup their losses. I wouldn't want to be in their position. Jive was part of a buyout. Suddenly having to handle Britney had to be a headache. They hit the ground running. Let's not totally **** on RCA.

We complained about not letting Britney do what she wanted, only three singles for ITZ, overprotected video (not the remix version), gimme more funeral scenes missing, VMAS 07 performance (yes we blamed jive not Britney), Piece of me video lack of dancing, circus era lack of promo, and many many more.

We are never satisfied until we realize that Britney isn't the same that she used to, she's not hungry for hits or successful eras, she doesn't have stage present anymore..... Etc

WE MUST TAKE the new Britney as she is now or just let her go..

Again, you're talking about JIVE controlling Britney. THAT is the main complainant fans had against  JIVE. For better or worse, JIVE cared.  Everything from 2007 on down, most of us had enough sense to rightfully blame BRITNEY SPEARS and her team for her sloppy performances and nonexistent promo.

Other major RCA artists don't have such problems.

So the problem is Britney and her team.

Stop the drama.

They're not having these problems because....RCA actually likes them. :hahaha: They are shutting Britney down left , right , and center! RCA choose "Perfume" as the 2nd single, then nuked the video concept into something unexplained, and cancelled the ERA. But I'm sure Britney was OK with that since , according to some fans,  she didn't really want to release Britney Jean that soon.

JIVE as well as RCA are part of Sony Entertainment. They are owned by the same people and most of the same people moved to RCA after JIVE disbanded.

No sweety, alot of JIVE folks got fired and the majority of JIVE's promotional team had been laid off before the merger even happened.:donewithit:

Where were you 8 years ago? Everyone was dragging Jive. :nothavingit:

8 years ago was the year 2008. Everybody was dragging Larry, Jamie Spears,  and Sam Lufti.  JIVE was being bashed for the usual , which was controlling Britney by making her release the type of music THEY wanted. They weren't bashed for not caring about her as an artist.

I think you don't know the ins and outs of what goes on behind the scenes and have no right to judge RCA or other stakeholders who work with Britney.

Your post would probably come across as pretty childish to those involved in making the big decisions which in some instances would certainly include Britney herself.

Shut up. lil' girl. :nyheadache:

Yes they did complain and there were a lot of "thank God Britney left Jive" threads

I was here. I was the one expressing doubts about RCA being able to provide Britney the special attention she needed. And I was right. :bbgumstare:

JIVE unfortunately changed in 2011 after being acquired by Sony and being merged into RCA by the end of 2011 JIVE was folded into RCA with Arista records among (probably others). So technically Britney never really left her record label, and I don't even know if the same people who ran JIVE now run RCA but it seems likely that Britney didn't really change anything. I still don't know this but it seems very likely that many artists stayed with RCA because they felt a loyalty to JIVE. Then again Barry Weiss (ex CEO of JIVE) went to UMG (United Music Group) in March, 2011, so perhaps if Britney wanted to stay true to her roots she should have followed him there. BUT THEN again (oh man this post could go for a while) Barry Weiss stepped down from that position after Island Def Jam departed from UMG in 2014. SO hence and therefore, it is best that Britney is with RCA because what would have happened to her if she went to UMG, Warner Music Group (who are owned by UMG) or Capitol Records who's parent company is UMG? That's right, she would be all alone and have no one from her previous years with JIVE/Zomba. At least Britney (potentially) still has a support system in RCA as technically they merged with JIVE.

SO I REST MY CASE TBH :mj:

:wannadie:

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea. You make statements and then 2nd guess those same statements in the next sentence.lol  A lot of people got fired during the acquisition  from both RCA and JIVE.RCA actually had to downsize when they took JIVE's roster. So make no mistake ,most of JIVE's employees got FIRED.

I actually think BJ sucked so bad because of RCA, I think they scrapped the original personal album for something more commercial and we got a rushed generic pile of ****......I mean I found it so odd how ok they were with it flopping aka it was prob their own fault so what could they say and they prob cut the era short because Britney hated the project.

She technically did leave her label though because completely different people are in charge, you make it seem as though everyone from Jive followed and like RCA didn't already have management and that it's exactly the same as Jive was.  Jive essentially went out of business and RCA acquired whatever artists hadn't been dropped because they are also under the Sony umbrella, but most of the Jive big wigs lost their jobs....I mean why do you think Barry Weiss didn't go to RCA.....because there wasn't a position open for him there.

Yeah but here's the thing RCA drops the ball on things that are their responsibilities, like they pick the release date and clearly they ****** up with that and they also are terrible at advertising her albums something Jive always did well. Not to mention the leaking of Glory was totally their fault because they sent the damn album out too early!

I don't know where they got the idea that RCA is JIVE records with a new name.

What part of that translates into "the same people moved to RCA after JIVE disbanded. "? :idkney:

RCA gave the go-ahead to release 'Britney Jean'.

And ,whether you guys know it or not, Record Labels have the final say over whether an artists music video gets released/scrapped/re-done because the RECORD LABEL is paying for it. That is out of Team Britneys control.

So blame Perfume getting scrapped, the Original Make Me... video getting scrapped/completely redone, and Britney only releasing 2 videos during the Britney Jean era.... and that cheap *** Work ***** video  on RCA. They are at fault.

Stuff like this did not happen under JIVE records and they had to deal with Britney during her worst years.

RCA is also in charge of that Glorys screencap album cover! That is THEIR album. They put the money behind it and have the final say on what goes on their product!

So now I ask, are we going to get a video for whatever 2nd single RCA (Britneys record label) decides?  I would be shocked if we did.

PREPARE YOURSELVES!

HEY!!!!

You can talk **** about "Glory", you can trash the horrible MM official video, you can criticize the VMA performance, you can cuss, you can spit, you can swear, you can even take the Holy Spearit's name in vain......

But DO NOT call the "Work *****" video a "cheap *** video". That is the only good video we've gotten from Britney in recent years, and you need to get down on your hands and knees and pray for forgiveness for such blasphemy.

RCA didnt care for Britney Jean because that was leftover from the contract with Jive. She owed Jive one more album after FF and RCA just basically inherited it which is probably why both parties didnt really give a damn.

Also RCA has the final say but they're not the one who tells them who they should hire or what album cover should be used. They're only concern if it can be offensive or cause the album to not sell. Why you think some artists have artsy covers?

No, when Jive folded, Barry Weiss was promoted to Chairman of sony music or something like that. They even had a party for him and Britney was there to say a few things about him and how she owes her career to him. Though I think he left to universal later.

Are you talking about in 2008?  He held the position as Chief Executive Officer of RCA/Jive Label Group until he left in 2011.... right before JIVE went  under.  Barry was never there after the merger.

SHE MAKES THEM MONEY! OF COURSE THEY WILL LIKE HER!

ITS TEAM BRITNEY'S FAULT.

THE REASON (RUMORED) THAT THE VIDEO WAS SCRAPPED WAS BECAUSE THE INVESTORS ESSOS AND THAT ORANGE THING DID NOT LIKE THE VIDEO SO THEY HAD TO RESHOOT IT.

THAT WAS TEAM BRITNEY'S FAULT BECAUSE AS YOU GUYS KNOW HER TEAM IS GREEDY. HENCE WHY SHE EVEN FIRED THEM IN 2007(?)

FOR BRITNEY JEAN....

BRITNEY DIDNT EVEN CARE ABOUT THE ALBUM HERSELF.

YES, RCA ****** UP WHEN THEY DID NOT LIKE THE ORIGINAL STUFF.

SO....

I'm so glad you brought this up!

i love Kelly as much as I love Britney. Have been a fan since her audition on Idol.

RCA is garbage. The moment Jive went to RCA I was nervous for how Britney's career would end up. They don't know how to properly market their artists.

SO glad Kelly is no longer with them. Now if only Britney would follow suit.

/end rant. Now back to my regularly scheduled streaming of Glory 24/7.

u must be a new fan

Jive did the same stuff

BTMYH was edited down

DLMBTLTK was edited down

Where Are You Now ... is still a unreleased music video Jive/Sony are holding

ILRNR was never released in the US by choice of Jive

Everytime was edited down

Outrageous has yet to see the light of day... even thro they had 3 full days of shooting and were just finishing up during her fall (it was the last shots to do)

Gimme More was edited down

than u have all the canceled planed filming for videos like Boom Boom and Radar

Glory cover comes as a last min thing due to LaChapelle not wanting anything to do with the project after RCA Britney and Larry didnt approve of the final video

(which is why the Make Me single cover is from his photoshoot)

Britney Jean was just a promo for Vegas and nothing more ...  :quirkney:

u r 4getting Britney is the final say... she always has been and always will be... she picks every album cover... if u dont like the pic blame her for picking it

albums are always sent out early ... they are always in the stock room in a box waiting ... its nothing new... Sony ships out products so early so on release day there there... do u really think Sony is gonna wait til the day of or night b4 to send a product on trucks all over the world so it can hopefully get there in time ? its up to the store to make sure its out on the day it should be.

if anything RCA is doing a better job at things not leaking than Jive ... FF was leaked online almost 20 days b4 it was released HIAM was rushed released becos the song leaked early which is why there is a month gap from the single to video release
