Maybe some cunning popstars bribed Britney's team to sabotage Britney since Britney doesn't really care about when her new stuffs will get released (i remember her interview saying that she doesn't know when the album's coming out, but Glory eventually released that same month). Maybe that also explains her lack of support from the radios, someone bribed the radio DJs:sickofu:

Where did she promote Glory tho? I can't remember. She mentioned it a couple of times in interviews, but she talks more about her children, Vegas and living life. That's cool, but not good before releasing an album

Ellen and Carpool both mentioned it. Jimmy Kinmell mentioned it. Every Radio station mentioned it. Glory was advertised all over YouTube, Apple Music and Spotofy.

The VMAs and Citi sessions may not have flashed an album cover in the screen, but when someone performs on tv you search then on whatever music service you use and buy/download. Beyonce's months old album reentered the top 10.

Do you really believe that RCA don't want their artist to succeed?

And where did the country band mention their album? I couldn't even tell you the name of it and yet they beat Brit to #2. Brit's sales are tied to the public perception that she has created over the last decade.

Well did you ever wonder why Beyoncé's album was boosted but not Glory? Britney performing Make Me drew interest to this particular song and that's it. Beyoncé's album got mentioned over and over throughout the night and she performed a medley of songs from Lemonade, raising the interest in her whole body of work. Britney should have done the same, but she only showcased Make Me. If MM benefited from the performance then Glory could have, had they been intelligent and knew how to get people to check for the album.

If RCA wanted Britney to succeed they wouldn't have rushed Britney Jean and ruined her image. Look at Justin Timbermale, THAT'S someone they really want to succeed. They paid a HUGE week-long radio deal for his soundtrack song and did lots of Spotify payola. They are barely invested in Britney, in comparison.

The country band did a lot of promo, how do you think they had 10 SONGS all over the top 100 on iTunes on the release week. It doesn't matter that YOU can't name the band, the country audience is big and buys albums and they did a lot of performances. The album didn't sell on their name like Britney.

So in short, they had very strong competitors with solid strategies and they knew and told us Britney's performance was not going to be a headline-drawer and had the nerve to release on that week.

By the way Ellen was on the second week so not sure why you're mentioning her.

Lol ok if you think a record label is trying to ruin Britney's success that's on you :boredashell:

Britney did what she wanted to do. A radio host said to her 'you have 30 seconds, promote whatever you want' and she said 'I'm gonna sue you' the host had to promote glory for her.

Every pop fan in America knew Britney had an album released that week, but Britney has fell so steeply out of public interest that the sales didn't convert. End of.

I didn't say they are trying to ruin her. My Timberlake example clearly states they are not doing their best with her. If you took that sentence so literally then that's on you. :boredashell:

Source for the bolded bit? Even if that was true, the problem does not lie here. Her team/label picked this terrible date knowing the content of the performance. Also knowing that there was an opportunity just the next Friday.

The last paragraph makes no sense. Make Me got boosted and went from selling 24% of Closer to 44% for hours. If that truly was the case, this wouldn't have happened. Did the performance not convert into sales? Make Me got exposure and Glory didn't. End of.

I'm not sure what interview it was, but if you YouTube it it was one of the New York ones, where they pretend to bring Brad Pitt in.

Arghhh... Indeed her team is full of idiots. I always thought they released the album way too early. They could have released it on any other week when Barbra, FGL or any other artist werent releasing their albums. They could have released it before or after that as well. Even Britney Jean could have a No.1 or No.2 debut had it been released on a quieter date.

Plus Make Me is still showing signs of progress. Releasing it on 26th aug was way too early.. they should release it before or even after the two special performances i.e Apple and iHeart.

Getting a number 1 would've been more beneficial to her at this stage of her career 18 years later. She needed that positive press that she was back at number 1 after Britney Jean. Her label knew her competition's previous numbers so they knew what was going to happen and should've never put their hopes on her team, the vmas.

They did her dirty with that date, ****** up Make Me and now are taking too long to release the 2nd single.

Truly treating her the worst way possible.
