FF was released by Jive

I actually think RCA is partially to blame for why BJ sucks, I think it started out really personal....remember she said HOT was the first song done for the project but then they told Will.I.Am they wanted a Dance album and we got a rushed dated mess!

Yeah right. For some reason I always think Circus was her last album with Jive.

It's disturbing how the label can force on their artists whole album concepts. I guess Britney was looking forward to Vegas and was tired of rebelling and fighting for her ideas so she submitted to what they wanted. Her career took a dip because of them.

Well I mean Jive changed the direction of FF as well, labels do stuff like that all the time but RCA is really known for it.....Kelly Clarkson had a ton of creative differences with them

Album releases are planned months and months in advance... they can't just change it after finding out Barbra/the other one is releasing when they found out.

It's their job to find out.

You can change a release date after it's announced&put up for pre-order. Fifth Harmony did it with each of its releases.

RCA's first release with Britney was the Criminal single - which was a remix that was a part of the first RCA album release, B in the Mix 2.

Nah, just like they were set on releasing Make Me in May then moved it to July, they could have changed their plans.

And anyways I don't believe for a second that the date is set months and months before. By the time they were choosing the date, they already knew Barbra and FGL were releasing so they did the VMA to beat them.

By the way even if that was the case, then what you're claiming means all the dates were set for everyone, which means they can know who is releasing on the 26th.

Playing the devil's advocate much.

I've said this before and they probably thought they should use the VMA hype (that sadly didn't happen) to sell as many as possible because sales equals money and money is more important than having the title of number 1 album.  Higher sales and a number 3> lower sales and a number 1. I don't know if it worked or not seeing how the VMAs weren't talked about as im sure everyone thought they would be but I can see the logic behind the release date.

RCA really are complete idiots honestly I mean they picked the most big release packed week of the past like 2 months I mean there must be a way for industry insiders to find out who's releasing when and Barbara has announced her album way ahead of time and they picked a really bad time to release BJ too! Jive would never tbh, I miss them so much they were so much smarter with release dates and did more in terms of advertising!

They were bad at the end but they did so much better than RCA.

What the actual **** RCA?!!!

Most of the GP do not focus on the numbers the way that fans do. All they see, is that an Artist 20 years into her career was only able to debut at No. 3 and not No.1 which perpetuates an illusion of irrelevancy.

To put it simply, the GP sees Gwen (a fellow 90's Artist) debuting at No.1, compares it to Britney debuting at No.3 and concludes that Gwen is more relevant in 2016 than Britney, regardless of the fact that Britney sold more!

I believe RCA put Glory in a strong week in order to generate more sales by gambling on the fact that fans would buy/gift more copies than normal in an attempt to get Britney to beat out Barbara & FGL.

It's smart because it makes them money in the short term but it's narrow-minded because every time Britney takes a knock to her reputation it will equate to less money for them in the long term.

Why are you all so pressed. Britney did the most promo she has in yearssss.

When we heard she was doing VMA and CK and Ellen we all assumed the album would smash.

Britney was everywhere, including YouTube, Spotify, Apple and iTunes ads. I didn't see the country band or Barbara anywhere.

its not RCAs fault the GP have lost interest in Britney over the years.

The album quality and promo have been good with more planned. It's years of absence that has distanced her from the GP. Britney Spears with that level of promo should have outsold the other two.

Hopefully this is the beginning of her reintroduction.

And RCA doesn't hate Britney, come on. She is still one of their biggest sellers, they of course want to capitalise on that. The world isn't against Britney like we want to believe.

Where did she promote Glory tho? I can't remember. She mentioned it a couple of times in interviews, but she talks more about her children, Vegas and living life. That's cool, but not good before releasing an album

their strategies are so stone age :gloria: thats what i hate about older people, most of them do not like to listen to new ideas, theyre not very receptive to changing times
